Notes from the Community

Very apprehensive about buying this gazebo because it had no reviews when I ordered it. I liked the size and neutral color as well as the price. Based on other Sunjoy product reviews I pulled the trigger. So glad I did.Very heavy box was delivered this morning to my patio and I had it up in 2.5 hours. All by myself. Probably would have been half that time with help.Powder coated steel frame seems very sturdy and fabric top is adequate. Reason for 4 stars is fabric is stretched so tight I can see seams about to burst. Last corner of canopy is too tight to stretch over final post so I left it. Doesnt affect look, but bothers me nonetheless. I plan on spraying it with UV fabric protector to hopefully last 2-3 years.Recommend you have a step ladder and a 10mm socket wrench for installation. Instructions are easy to follow.I later removed one of the four side rails with no loss of stability. The gazebo comes in a really large box (when you order there is an option for someone to put it together for you, though we decided to do it ourselves). All of the pieces are packaged very neatly and labeled clearly. The instruction packet is all visual, so a little confusing at times, but generally clear. It took us about 4 hours to put it together. You will definitely need a ladder and probably a foot stool too when you start putting on the canopies. Youll need some muscle to get the canopy on securely too. The frame pieces are very sturdy and canopy pieces well-made. And it includes stakes for securing to the ground which is an unexpected plus! The finished product is beautiful and we cant wait to get our new outdoor furniture to put inside! Relatively lightweight in construction but still mostly sturdy and stable. Stakes through the base of each pole hold it in place. My husband assembled it by himself in a few hours, needing a ladder for the last few steps (putting the overhead structure on with the fabric canopy). No missing parts or modifications needed. Vent holes seem to keep the breeze from making it sway so far, but we havent had any major wind yet. Love the hook under the center of the canopy. I plan to put a solar chandelier there (putting the solar panel up through the vented roof). Its perfect for the yard and what we needed. EDIT: after 60 days in our backyard in full sun, the top of the canopy has faded dramatically. Instead of being tan, its now a faded purple-ish color (see photo attached). For that reason, Im reducing the review by one star. On the plus side, weve had some pretty strong winds (gusts up to 50 mph) recently and it hasnt budged so the stakes and venting seem to do their job. My husband & I put this together in about 1.5 hours. The instructions are very easy to follow. Its exactly what we were looking for & fits our patio perfectly. Highly recommend any Sunjoy product…top of the line, quality merchandise! We got this gazebo because we dont have any shade in our backyard and it gets extremely hot during the spring / summer. We wanted to be able to still enjoy some outside time once it gets hotter. When you plan on putting this gazebo together make sure you plan enough time. It took us about 2.5 hours with 2 people working on it. The gazebo is very sturdy and its beautiful!A couple nights ago we had planned to BBQ but the weather changed and it started raining. We moved our BBQ under the gazebo and voila we were still able to enjoy our BBQ. Although it rained for hours no one got wet. It was great! We just set our new gazebo up and are really impressed by the overall quality. The fabric is nice and heavy. It will not only provide great shade, but will repel water as well. After we set it up we had some pretty significant wind blow through as a storm was coming in. I was worried about the gazebo, but it held its ground and didnt budge! The venting at the top worked beautifully. We hadnt even staked it down yet. I was also super pleased to see a hook at the top to hang lights or a flower basket. I didnt expect it so it was an added bonus for me. One suggestion I have is to lay your poles out in the order they go up and it will help with the assembly. I love this gazebo! The fence defines the space but is not intrusive and LOVE how the serving shelf goes up and down. It was easy to assemble- I watched the assembly video first and it made set up simple and clear. Youll want 2 people and a step ladder but it went quick. It is very heavy and high quality. It has plenty of places to hang plants and has a spot for a chandelier in the middle. The canopy fits snug, and was a little tricky to get the last side attached, but wasnt too hard. Cant wait to use it this summer and for many years to come! As others have said, instructions were easy to follow. We put it up over our 6 person Intex octagon hot tub. We also anchored it down with rope and cynderblocks at 4 corners. We will keep it up year round. We also have two chairs and a small table under it. Windscreen keeps heat in tub area and wind out. Lights are great of night use.

Chances are you know a bit about computers if youve made your way through all of the laptop options to this guy. If you are new to buying computers, I will break down some of the specs, what they mean, and what I feel their value is. If not, scroll to the end for my final thoughts. For the new guys, heres the breakdown:SCREEN: 144hz IPS 1080p display. 144hz means you get 144 frames per second. Most laptop screens are going to get 60hz or nicer ones get 120hz. 144hz is fast. IPS displays are good for wide viewing angles and color production. I am surprised to see a 144hz IPS display on a gaming laptop because in the past, IPS were only used for graphic design. 1080p is Full HD, and is more than adequate for gaming on a 15 inch screen. 4k is kind of overkill especially for a budget. A 27inch 144hz IPS 1080p display goes for up to $300. I would estimate the value of this laptops display at ~$150GRAPHICS: Nvidia gtx1060. I wouldnt buy a laptop without a graphics card, and it has to be NVidia. The 1060 is a great value and is perfectly capable of handling games at 1080p. The 1070 and 1080 are more for 4k gaming and make them kind of overkill and not as budget friendly. The 1060 should be able to connect to a 4k tv and play games in 4k, but they would probably look better in higher settings in 1080p on that same 4k tv. A desktop gtx 1060 still goes for about $300.CPU: Intel i7-8750h. This is a beast. 6 cores with hyperthreading. It supports ultra HD resolutions without a graphics card. I wont bore you with all of the details about how beastly this is. Bottom line, it is a top of the line CPU. the desktops i7-8700 goes for just over $300.aRAM: 16GB of ddr4 should suffice for just about anything. Leave a hundred screens open on your browser and play games while using photoshop. Who cares right?? You could get more but it would be overkill for a budget gaming machine. This much ram for a laptop sells for around $150Storage: 256gb M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. A lot of letters right? This is probably the fastest type of drive in the consumer market. Rather than a giant block in your laptop, this is a small card that goes in the motherboard. It is fast!!! No more PTSD every time you restart your computer. 256GB is enough for windows and several large programs like photoshop. I dont recommend this as a storage drive, only as an operating system/large program drive. Thats where the problem lies. This is the only drive in the laptop. You can easily install a second drive in the bay on the bottom of the laptop. It takes 3 minutes. I would recommend a hard drive from western digital. The installed 256gb m.2 drive goes for $120.However, adding another drive adds $100, upping the price of the laptop to $1300 (its currently at $1200)Bells and whistles:1 USB 3.1(type c), 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI 2.0, SD Card reader. (no thundercat port)HIgher end laptops have more bells and whistles like extra ports and fun other things. This comes with the basics, and most people wont need more than that.Keyboard: red backlight, side numpad. Cant change the colors. Kind of basic keyboard. This saves on overall cost of the laptop and its a bell or whistle I can live without.FINAL THOUGHTS:Adding up the assumed monetary value of the Display ($150), GPU($300), CPU($300), RAM($150), and Storage($120), We have a base value of $1020. I cant easily estimate the motherboard, battery, laptop shell, power cord, and other small parts, but assuming all those other parts add up to ~$300, that makes the value of this laptop around $1300. It sells for $1200 so it is a good value.Biggest selling point in price range: Other similarly priced laptops offer similar specs, but not many can boast of having that 144hz IPS display. Some competitors are at 120hz which isnt anything to scoff at. The M.2 NVMe is a must if you are considering other competitors. Other than that, most laptops in this pool offer the same general specs (CPU, GPU, RAM)CONCERNS:Audio: Audio kind of sucks. If you hold the speakers towards you, they sound fine, but they arent even close to ear level so all the sound is getting muffled by your lap. I usually use my headphones, but there are also a lot of bluetooth speaker options nowadays.Materials: The case is solid. Parts of it are metal and other parts are plastic. Oils from your fingers show up very well all over the laptop. Wear vinyl gloves when playing games (jk dont). You may have to clean it often.Overheating: All gaming laptops will get hot. In fact most other laptops I considered buying were criticized heavily for getting too darn hot. The ones that werent criticized for that were criticized for breaking at the hinges. I purchased this one because it was reviewed as being sturdy and cooler than other gaming laptops. I havent had any specific problems with this laptop, but others have suggested boosting the fan if in a hardcore gaming session. Invest in a cooling pad. It should be very hard to overheat this laptop to the point of failure. Im not going to post a super long review, just what I cared about, what this laptop is, and what it isnt.Pro: Insane performance per dollar. Maxing out stuff like Diablo 3, WoW, Overwatch, DOOM, Various Source engine games (TF2, Halflife 2, black mesa, etc) will be butter smooth. This is a near-desktop replacement device.Pro: One of the best non mechanical keyboards. Great travel distance and key responsivenessPro: Lighter than I expected. Its not an ultra-thin notebook, but very travel friendly.Pro: Premium FeelPro: Gorgeous Display. Its a 144 Hz IPS display. Its gorgeous. There is some lightbleed when displaying almost all black screens, but thats expected. Not going to count that as a con.Con: It can get warm, to the point of discomfort near the WSAD keys, which I assume the GPU is located internally. I turned on the coolboost feature or whatever its called and this helped.Con: Bloatware. Took about 5 minutes to remove, but nobody likes bloatware.Con: Drivers out of box are a joke. My network performance was horrible until several driver installs and windows updates completed. Drivers are extremely out of date (8+ months old) out of box.Neutral: Design language is typical angsty 14 year old, red and black, stark angles, and angry looking PREDATOR logos. I personally dont care, some people might not like the loud looks.Neutral: PredatorSense software: It lets you slightly OC the 1060, which I did. It also lets you set fan curves. Theres plenty of third party software that does all this already but its nice of them to try.Neutral : 2 year limited warranty: I hope I dont need it.Neutral: NO Mechanical storage hard disk: It only has a 256gig NVME. Not a big deal because I use this exclusively for a handful of games to play while at work, but this might be a turn off for some.Overall, I am happy with this having spent $1200. I would not pay a cent more, but most laptops in this tier DO cost 1400+. If you want something to play games on the go, are cheap, but demand decent quality, there is your go-to laptop. Not sure whether the thermal paste is badly applied, or this laptop just sucks. But it has serious issues with overheating. I was consistently hitting temps of 90C+ and hit spikes of 98C quite a few times. The laptop shut down twice because it maxed at 100C. This is happening with the fan on MAX and the GPU set to NORMAL, not even overclocking. However, based on reading other reviews, I believe this issue is not consistent with this item, it is a manufacturing flaw, not a design problem. This will happen to you SOMETIMES if you buy this laptop. This is not a risk Im willing to take, Im returning it for a different laptop which will not have cooling issues. This laptop, other than its (serious) cooling issues, was a great laptop and ran games well (for the first hour or so).*EDIT: I forgot to add, the left control key worked about half the time, since day 1 of buying the laptop. I had to press it really hard to get it to work right. **

I received the Fire TV Stick 4K on launch day. I own the previous model and this is a much better experience. First off the remote is a huge improvement. The power button on the remote can turn on my tv, my receiver, fire stick, and switch the inputs automatically so the fire stick is on screen and ready to go with just one click of the power button. Its really nice. This is how it should have been all along. It gets even better though… lets say my TV is already on, and my receiver is set to a different input such as my FIOS tv box? All you do is click the home button on the remote and the remote switches the receiver to the correct hdmi input on the receiver for the fire stick! One remote to rule them all, and yes it controls volume on the receiver too! This is excellent. Its highly configurable. The setup is quite nice. You can define which inputs get picked when hitting the power and home button. You can define which device the volume buttons control. Amazon has done a great job with the Fire Stick 4K.Its faster than previous fire sticks. No more menu lag. Things are smoother and faster overall. Ive used Roku, Chromecast Ultra and Fire Stick… I like them all for different reasons. I also dislike chromecast because 5.1 audio will not work on my receiver because chromecast refuses to support Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1. Fire stick has no problem handling DD5.1. This makes my plex and netflix experience much more enjoyable. The remote is better than not having a remote (chromecast). Rokus are very nice as well. All 3 of these options are great in their own way and frankly I had thought fire stick was the least desirable but recently Ive come to realize I prefer Fire stick so I pre-ordered the 4K fire stick and I could not be happier with it. Amazon needs to keep up the good work. The 4K stick is a solid product and an excellent upgrade from the previous model Let me tell you, I was super excited for the launch of the new FireTV Stick with its leading edge technology and processing power. Well, its got that but theres a couple bug, game breaking problems I have with this thing.1) The Amazon platform is basically retooled Android, which is a crap interface. Its cluttered, redundant, and Amazon being Amazon wants you to use all their services over everyone elses so not only does their menu get in the way but the top third of the home screen is promotions for whatever they want to push.2) Also because its Amazon they want you to use THEIR streaming services to rent movies so much so that there is no Vudu or Google Play app available to install. If Prime Video had a decent selection of rentals (it doesnt) or a halfway usable interface (it doesnt) I would have less of a problem.3) Our FireTV Stick has issues with flickering and sound dropout. Tech support immediately supplied a series of less than helpful troubleshooting tips. Did you try a different TV? Did you try a different HDMI port? Despite my Roku working just fine. I elected to return this since I was already fed up with the closed interface and terrible menus.Slightly less of an issue but still annoying is the inability to completely turn off HDR. Its either always on or adaptive meaning the content dictates HDR which is a problem especially with Netflix (which is calibrated too dark on some TVs)For now Im happier with my Roku Stick despite less robust HDR support.Edit: updated my review for the following:- Amazon reached out immediately after my review to get additional feedback and to offer more support. That actually means something these days. Ill continue to monitor for problems- I upgraded to a new TV and this makes the HDR issue better since it actually looks good on this TV. Problem still stands of not being able to disable HDR entirely if needed- The smart controls feature is nice. I can use Alexa to change TV inputs now.- Less flickering on new tv but still have sound dropoutsHowever my issue with not having a way to watch VUDU/UV movies is a huge issue. On top is that, MoviesAnywhere doesnt tell you which movies were transferred over in 4K. So while the titles may sync, in cases of certain films (eg Deadpool 2) you only get the HD version and not the UHD/HDR one you paid for. Until this is fixed Ill leave my review at 3 stars. Our main streaming service is DirecTV Now, and this stick doesnt run it right. The app seems to works and then just freezes. When I go to run a speed test, the connection is super low, and then ramps up over time back up to full speed. Its as though the app crashes the stick. Other things seem to work fine, but not the app we use the most. Will return and continue to use gen 2 and gen 3 devices. Too bad.UPDATE: So, I deleted DirecTV Now and did a fresh install. For the past three days, things actually worked well and considered revising my rating. Then I tried to watch a little Sunday football. CBS froze over and over again and caused the app to continually crash. Thought maybe it was the local CBS stream because other channels worked fine. Then I tried the Roku I have in my kids room, DirecTV Now worked fine. Figured Id give it another go for the second game, same result. Watched Rams/Seahawks in my kids room with no issue on the Roku device. Again, other apps seem to work fine (I think) on Fire, but this stick isnt right just yet. Id wait for problems to work itself out.

Notes from the Community

I was skeptical about this product, I dont care for the idea of shocking a pet, but this collar has a beeping and vibration setting so I thought I would give it a try. I have a 1 year old mixed breed that I have tried everything to train. She is very smart but there were things that I couldnt deal with, like digging up my flowers and jumping on people that visit. When I let my dog out she would go nuts and wouldnt mind me when I gave her a command. From the time I put it on her my life has improved. She comes when I tell her, no longer digs in my flowers and has become a very well behaved dog. I have never gone past the vibration setting and after 1 week I hardly use any of the settings. The beeping was enough to warn her and if she keeps on the I use the vibration, never have used the shock. I was at a point where I was looking for her a home, now I have the dog I wanted. I have a 8 month old lab. Nothing got thru to her, when she went outside. I love the low adjustable settings. Now with just a little beep and the occasional lvl 20 buzz she turns right around and comes running home. Not even the horse pasture next door distracts her. Our Dobie thought she owned us.After we hooked up the training collar she found she was wrong. Only buzzed her once. Now when you call her, shes on her way I am writing this review after using the product for only two days. It has a sleek design and is not cumbersome for my dog. The three modes; Sound (beep), Vibration, and Static makes it a viable training tool. I have used the Sound mode the most since it allows me to change behavior with the least amount of input from the collar. I have only used the vibration mode once and it was so effective that I may never have to use the Static mode. Charging was quick on both the remote control and the receiver. I like that it has the silicone cover for the receiver electrodes to ensure no harm to my dog in case the Static mode was inadvertently used. Excellent product! So I purchased this collar and remote system for 3 of my dogs. I recently adopted a 3rd dog and prior to that had purchased another ecollar brand from Amazon, but that system only accommodated 2 collard max. Most of the collars I was looking at had a max of 2 collars and that was just going to be a pain to have to work 2 remotes. Im not sure how I discovered that this system could accommodate up to 9 receivers, but that definitely caught my attention! I actually 4 dogs total, so knowing I could put the 4th dog on with the other 3 and still only have 1 remote is great! So I ordered the remote with collar and then ordered 2 extra collars. For the price, Im amazed at all the features and functionality of the product. I love it so far! The collars(receivers) are a little big compared to others used in the past, but to me they almost look like bow ties and I thinks its cute on my 2 males dogs! The remote fits nicely in my hand, I appreciate the wrist strap that comes with it, these remotes (in general) tend to slip out of my hand easily so I really like the strap. Once you get the hang of the buttons, its pretty easy to switch through collars and type of corrections. I also love that the remote has a lock. These were very easy to set up, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I did make the mistake of plugging all the collars in to charge them prior to reading the instructions and did end up setting a couple collars to the same number, but it was easily fixed. Another feature I love is the battery life for each collar and the remote. This is so helpful! I realize the collars have flashing lights on them, but in the past with another brand the lights would get covered by fur or I just wouldnt see them and I would go to tone my dog and find that the collar was dead. So Im loving the battery life displayed. The receivers were easy to put on the nylon collars and adjust as needed. The only minor issue I have noticed a few times is that there can be a tiny bit of delay between pressing the button on the remote and hearing the tone or seeing them react to the vibration. It has not caused me any issues and tends to happen after they have been idle a while. I understood these are cheaper but so far the quality is great and Im hopefully they will last a while! I will update my review as needed. This has been the BEST training collar so far! Weve tried 3 other brands prior to purchasing this one and they were all garbage. This one works great and the collar and remote are both great quality - and the best part is they actually hold a charge! Other ones weve tried wouldnt last a full day! Great training collar overall - the only thing that I would chage is the size of the receiver, its huge especially for a smaller dog, but I guess thats the trade-off for it being able to hold a charge for so long. This is I would have to say THE BEST collar I have bought so far . I have a Pitbull mix and he has always been a good dog but recently we add a new kitten to the family and well Ill just say the litter box is very exciting for him . I put this on him and when he went towards the litter box I used the vibration function and well he hasnt been near it since. He is my handsome angel once again . I love the material collar instead of the plastic one for the south. It gets very hot hear and the plastic one just wont do. The receiver is a little large but I think that most of them are. The transmitter is easy to use and I love the fact that you can adjust the amount of the charge zap that is given to the dog. This is the second training collar that I have used and I love it!

Notes from the Community

Very short and thin, they just roll up and down my limbs and Im 53 so I have no idea how anyone taller could use them and I am very afraid theyre going to break and snap me I got these for 80 Day obsession in 52 130 lbs and they are constantly rolling never had them not roll. So sad, just buy the beach body ones and save your money. It is very uncomfortable when they roll and I would rather focus on my workout instead of the rolling band. All of the bands have broken. They all break at the spot where they join the band to make a loop.In general the bands have a good amount of resistance and the 5 included are a good mix from lowest to highest resistance. I have been using them for IT Band rehab for the past few months, starting with the lowest resistance. But after a few weeks of use they stretch at the joint and then break. I just move up to the next higher resistance and, however they are all broken now.If you do buy these dont expect them to last long. They roll something terrible! I have tried to double the bands, and they still roll. Then they stick to themselves and it take a while to get them back to normal. An hour workout will turn into 2 with these bands. I have had these bands for several weeks, I use them daily, and thus far they have been perfect. I had never really integrated resistance band exercises into my routine but I am glad i did. These bands are great for a bunch of very effective workouts on your upper and lower body. I wasnt sure how best to use them but luckily they come with a very straightforward pamphlet that covers a bunch of great excercises. The carrying case is also a nice plus because without it they would add clutter for sure. I definitely recommend! Edit: unfortunately after a month or so my heavy has ripped…so not quite as durable as I had hoped. I get it that all fitness bands can roll up on you, but these stick together so bad when they do it ruins a workout. It can take up to 45 seconds to work them apart. I used them for the first time today and I am already returning them. They rolled for nearly every exercise, but thats not even my main reason for the return. I am returning because I cant stand the smell!! It has been on my body all day even after showering and washing my hands several times. Its making me sick to my stomach. I am going to order from a brand that is non-latex and hope I dont have the same issue. Though I am returning, I gave 2 stars since they still felt pretty strong and the resistance was good when they werent rolling. I got these to use for beach bodys 80 Day Obsession workout. I spend more time trying to get them to lay flat than I actually do working out. They not only roll but get stuck together. Its horrible. Save your money and buy a thicker band.
