UPDATE: Reducing from 5 to 3 stars since the speaker quit working a couple of weeks ago. Will update this review based on Marshalls warranty response, but no way anything I buy gets 5 stars if it breaks within a year, much less 6 months. Another annoyance is that the thing automatically turns itself off after a few minutes of silence. This makes sense, sorta, when its running on battery power, but its VERY annoying when I have it plugged in and am using it as a home entertainment center speaker. I could forgive this quirk because the sound is truly magnificent for such a small speaker system, but with its failure to power-on at all, its unacceptable. Cmon Marshall - you are better than this!I was looking for a water resistant upgraded BT speaker to replace an older Braven brand speaker for my boat. While the Braven is impressive for its size, its lacking a bit in bass and volume. I auditioned several speakers at my local Best Buy, including 3 offerings by Marshall. The Kilburn 2 stood head and shoulders above the others - Very clear highs, smooth midrange, and punchy lows without sounding colored or boomy.Back on the boat, it remains impressive down below in the cabin - the sound is best described as transparent and uncolored. Im both a musician and a recovering audiophile, so I know good sound, and good sound reproduction. I also own a pair of Grado SR 60 headphones, and to my ear, this speaker matches or exceeds the fidelity of these legendary cans. Thats really something for an all in one speaker. Frequency response is flat as a pancake, and goes from around 40hz to 20,000kh, so youre right up against the limits of human hearing at both ends. Importantly, this little beast packs 36 watts of audio power into its tiny footprint. Many people think high wattage is important for high sound pressure levels, but thats a small part of the advantage of high wattage amps paired with well matched and tuned speakers. What high wattage is really about is headroom and the dynamic range it allows. Turn up a cheap, under-powered set of speakers loud enough to hear soft passages in music, and when the loud parts hit, the speakers break-up, distort, and sound brittle and harsh.Theres none of that here. Turn it up to 11, and its just as clear as at 2 or 3. Thats the mark of a well engineered and balanced audio system. Ironically, Marshall is known for making tube amplifiers for guitars that distort heavily at high volumes lol…The other part of the sound equation here is the sub-woofer / woofer that eats up 20 watts of that 36. It appears to use a rear firing wave-guide style resonance horn reverse engineered from Bose drek and vastly improved upon. The bass is truly uncanny. It can be easily adjusted along with the mids and the highs, but Ive found the best sound is leave both zeroed out. This is a solid bit of kit. Its heavy and solid in a very reassuring way. This is necessary to prevent resonance, rattling, and bass walking due to its low frequency punch. Its so heavy youre not gonna want to carry it very far - its more of a tailgate beast than backpacking buddy. The final delight are the ANALOG KNOBS. Whoever invented push-button volume and tone controls should be sent straight to hell, where they are forced to adjust sound with said buttons for eternity, and endure the overshooting and undershooting and slow response of such a hare-brained idea. Knobs are where its at - simple and effective, and easy to find in the dark.Oh, and its water resistant. I wouldnt use it in the shower or leave it out in the rain, but a spilled beer or a few drops of water isnt gonna instantly fry the thing, unlike the two - count them, two Jawbone Jam-boxes that instantly died from minor encounters with water splashes on my boat. That $400 lesson taught me that any BT speaker used on a boat or outdoors MUST be water resistant, and Marshall delivered.I was so impressed by the sound of this thing that I bought a pair of Marshal BT headphones. I dont know what the deal is, but the sound like crap, so they are going back. I was unimpressed with Marshalls other BT speakers as well, but this thing is a gem… Very high quality could not find a flaw with the Marshell Killburn ll. Sound is exellent with all types of music from 40s to 2019Looks good and sounds good. Very well packaged the company wants to make sure there is no loss of quality from packaging .Bluetooth connect was right now no delay to deal with. This unit was well thought out before it went to market. The battery does last for 20 hoirs been playing mine all day with battery meter dropping only one bar. Exellent job Marshell you got it right including the bass and treble work flawless. I would give this a 10 if I could. Priceless listerning enjoyment! My next door neighbor heard mine playing on my carport walked over he knows nothing about Bluetooth or the streaming process asked me one question which was where do you get that went back home and ordered it from Amazon immediately and ordered one for his son. The Killburn really does is a self seller. I have to admit I was skeptical when I took this speaker out of the package. Upon removing it, I was impressed with the solid craftsmanship and it looked tough. The real test was the sound. Pairing it to my phone and iPad was easy and I was able to play music immediately. The sound was perfect! Plenty of bass and no distortion. The treble was good, too. And, if it wasnt, the bass and treble are easily adjusted. I love the simplicity of the speaker, too. Worth the price and I definitely recommend it. I am no audiophile so I will skip the tech stuff about woofers, tweeters, etc.I purchased this speaker to use in my home office connected to free music streaming on my cell phone. I was very, very pleased with the quality of the sound. My daughter-in-law referred to it as a warm sound. I was listening to soft music, big band backing up crooners.. Sinatra, Crosby, Krall, JD Lang, Bennett, etc. It sounds a lot more powerful than its size would suggest and this is based on the free version of the music streaming. I like the fact that it has a bass and treble control. Some speakers boast about loudness and water resistance, neither of which was important to me. I have not actually timed the battery life, but I suspect it is as advertised, and Ive had no issues.I would highly recommend it to anyone who has the same uses in mind as I have had. If you want to blow the windows out, or throw it in the pool, you might to look at other speakers. I initially had a Bose Revolve+ because of the size and expectation it would be loud. The sound was good, but, to me, didnt compare to the style and amazing sound of Marshalls Kilburn II. The sound carried in a large room as I taught my Zumba Class. If I forget to charge, 20 minutes gives me a great boost and ability to play for over an hour. That said, this speaker plays long and strong. I love the easy to carry leather handle. Great sound and quality. Love the guitar-like sounds whenever you pair or unpair a device. Tough and durable. Love it!Update: After 4 uses the speaker stop working and now Marshall is processing my warranty inquire. Too bad it only lasted a monthUpdate: I calles marshalls technical service and in 7 days a new Marshall arrived all the way from Sweden. Really happy abt how they handle my issue. 5 stars! Disappointed in the changes- no longer has AUX input. Wake button- in exchange for what- higher version Bluetooth?! Not necessary. I liked the Gold trim on the older model. The sound is the same- I might add that the older one sounds a bit better separation. Shame!

Chances are you know a bit about computers if youve made your way through all of the laptop options to this guy. If you are new to buying computers, I will break down some of the specs, what they mean, and what I feel their value is. If not, scroll to the end for my final thoughts. For the new guys, heres the breakdown:SCREEN: 144hz IPS 1080p display. 144hz means you get 144 frames per second. Most laptop screens are going to get 60hz or nicer ones get 120hz. 144hz is fast. IPS displays are good for wide viewing angles and color production. I am surprised to see a 144hz IPS display on a gaming laptop because in the past, IPS were only used for graphic design. 1080p is Full HD, and is more than adequate for gaming on a 15 inch screen. 4k is kind of overkill especially for a budget. A 27inch 144hz IPS 1080p display goes for up to $300. I would estimate the value of this laptops display at ~$150GRAPHICS: Nvidia gtx1060. I wouldnt buy a laptop without a graphics card, and it has to be NVidia. The 1060 is a great value and is perfectly capable of handling games at 1080p. The 1070 and 1080 are more for 4k gaming and make them kind of overkill and not as budget friendly. The 1060 should be able to connect to a 4k tv and play games in 4k, but they would probably look better in higher settings in 1080p on that same 4k tv. A desktop gtx 1060 still goes for about $300.CPU: Intel i7-8750h. This is a beast. 6 cores with hyperthreading. It supports ultra HD resolutions without a graphics card. I wont bore you with all of the details about how beastly this is. Bottom line, it is a top of the line CPU. the desktops i7-8700 goes for just over $300.aRAM: 16GB of ddr4 should suffice for just about anything. Leave a hundred screens open on your browser and play games while using photoshop. Who cares right?? You could get more but it would be overkill for a budget gaming machine. This much ram for a laptop sells for around $150Storage: 256gb M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD. A lot of letters right? This is probably the fastest type of drive in the consumer market. Rather than a giant block in your laptop, this is a small card that goes in the motherboard. It is fast!!! No more PTSD every time you restart your computer. 256GB is enough for windows and several large programs like photoshop. I dont recommend this as a storage drive, only as an operating system/large program drive. Thats where the problem lies. This is the only drive in the laptop. You can easily install a second drive in the bay on the bottom of the laptop. It takes 3 minutes. I would recommend a hard drive from western digital. The installed 256gb m.2 drive goes for $120.However, adding another drive adds $100, upping the price of the laptop to $1300 (its currently at $1200)Bells and whistles:1 USB 3.1(type c), 1 USB 3.0, 2 USB 2.0, 1 HDMI 2.0, SD Card reader. (no thundercat port)HIgher end laptops have more bells and whistles like extra ports and fun other things. This comes with the basics, and most people wont need more than that.Keyboard: red backlight, side numpad. Cant change the colors. Kind of basic keyboard. This saves on overall cost of the laptop and its a bell or whistle I can live without.FINAL THOUGHTS:Adding up the assumed monetary value of the Display ($150), GPU($300), CPU($300), RAM($150), and Storage($120), We have a base value of $1020. I cant easily estimate the motherboard, battery, laptop shell, power cord, and other small parts, but assuming all those other parts add up to ~$300, that makes the value of this laptop around $1300. It sells for $1200 so it is a good value.Biggest selling point in price range: Other similarly priced laptops offer similar specs, but not many can boast of having that 144hz IPS display. Some competitors are at 120hz which isnt anything to scoff at. The M.2 NVMe is a must if you are considering other competitors. Other than that, most laptops in this pool offer the same general specs (CPU, GPU, RAM)CONCERNS:Audio: Audio kind of sucks. If you hold the speakers towards you, they sound fine, but they arent even close to ear level so all the sound is getting muffled by your lap. I usually use my headphones, but there are also a lot of bluetooth speaker options nowadays.Materials: The case is solid. Parts of it are metal and other parts are plastic. Oils from your fingers show up very well all over the laptop. Wear vinyl gloves when playing games (jk dont). You may have to clean it often.Overheating: All gaming laptops will get hot. In fact most other laptops I considered buying were criticized heavily for getting too darn hot. The ones that werent criticized for that were criticized for breaking at the hinges. I purchased this one because it was reviewed as being sturdy and cooler than other gaming laptops. I havent had any specific problems with this laptop, but others have suggested boosting the fan if in a hardcore gaming session. Invest in a cooling pad. It should be very hard to overheat this laptop to the point of failure. Im not going to post a super long review, just what I cared about, what this laptop is, and what it isnt.Pro: Insane performance per dollar. Maxing out stuff like Diablo 3, WoW, Overwatch, DOOM, Various Source engine games (TF2, Halflife 2, black mesa, etc) will be butter smooth. This is a near-desktop replacement device.Pro: One of the best non mechanical keyboards. Great travel distance and key responsivenessPro: Lighter than I expected. Its not an ultra-thin notebook, but very travel friendly.Pro: Premium FeelPro: Gorgeous Display. Its a 144 Hz IPS display. Its gorgeous. There is some lightbleed when displaying almost all black screens, but thats expected. Not going to count that as a con.Con: It can get warm, to the point of discomfort near the WSAD keys, which I assume the GPU is located internally. I turned on the coolboost feature or whatever its called and this helped.Con: Bloatware. Took about 5 minutes to remove, but nobody likes bloatware.Con: Drivers out of box are a joke. My network performance was horrible until several driver installs and windows updates completed. Drivers are extremely out of date (8+ months old) out of box.Neutral: Design language is typical angsty 14 year old, red and black, stark angles, and angry looking PREDATOR logos. I personally dont care, some people might not like the loud looks.Neutral: PredatorSense software: It lets you slightly OC the 1060, which I did. It also lets you set fan curves. Theres plenty of third party software that does all this already but its nice of them to try.Neutral : 2 year limited warranty: I hope I dont need it.Neutral: NO Mechanical storage hard disk: It only has a 256gig NVME. Not a big deal because I use this exclusively for a handful of games to play while at work, but this might be a turn off for some.Overall, I am happy with this having spent $1200. I would not pay a cent more, but most laptops in this tier DO cost 1400+. If you want something to play games on the go, are cheap, but demand decent quality, there is your go-to laptop. Not sure whether the thermal paste is badly applied, or this laptop just sucks. But it has serious issues with overheating. I was consistently hitting temps of 90C+ and hit spikes of 98C quite a few times. The laptop shut down twice because it maxed at 100C. This is happening with the fan on MAX and the GPU set to NORMAL, not even overclocking. However, based on reading other reviews, I believe this issue is not consistent with this item, it is a manufacturing flaw, not a design problem. This will happen to you SOMETIMES if you buy this laptop. This is not a risk Im willing to take, Im returning it for a different laptop which will not have cooling issues. This laptop, other than its (serious) cooling issues, was a great laptop and ran games well (for the first hour or so).*EDIT: I forgot to add, the left control key worked about half the time, since day 1 of buying the laptop. I had to press it really hard to get it to work right. **

The unit is well-made, powerful and effective in terms of reducing PM level, but it did not help with formaldehyde and VOCs in my case at all. The actual HCHO level was even slightly higher when testing the air coming directly from the unit.Kept it running for >2 hours without any improvements.(I used Temtop LKC-1000S+ for measurement, which was tested in different environments before and I know I can trust the numbers). So if your main concern is PM levels, then yes, seems to be a good deal, but if you are hoping to improve VOC levels look for something else. I returned the purifier in the end. Only had it for about a week but it is truly incredible. The CADR (Clean air dispersal rate AKA Air purifying power) of this machine is incredible. I have 2 Rowenta 6020 XL units and have for years. They are fine for smaller spaces but the one in my 1,000sqft basement always gave me trouble. I set this machine up and went to bed. In the morning the air down there was completely fresh and now it doesnt bother my girlfriends strong allergies. I ABSOLUTELY recommend buying this unit and if you somehow dont like it, just return it. PS seriously check the CADR of other air filters before you buy them as they often have blatantly false advertising. I ordered (and canceled) an Airmega 400 unit that said it could purify 1,500sqft. Its just a blatant lie. The CADR on it is 350 meaning you really shouldnt run it in an area you need to purify that is over 700sqft. Do some research and you will end up back here. Unless you want to spend $2,500 on a Bluair machine that does the exact same job at this unit. I Purchased this product because I had a huge mold issue in my apartment from a year long slow leaking pipe above me. I had the mold tested and the airborne levels were very high. The the moment I plugged in my Medify I felt a sense of instant relief. It smells better and we all actually even sleep much better! It was quick and easy to put together once it arrived… just inbox and plug in and the readings on it have been nothing but positive for the airflow. I love this product and I think everyone Should have one in their living or work space. Breathe Easy!! It did not come with a customer service number or filter replacement info. We bought the Medify MA-40 , for the master bedroom 6 -1 -19 , we were so impressed with the machine , we placed an order for the Medify MA-112 for the open plan living area on 6-6-19 . The improvement in the air quality is so good in the home , that we strongly recommend this product line to anyone who is considering air purification . RG . First I like the unit. however, unfortunately I got a defective one. It made noise on low speed. Basically the fan hits the sides. On high the noise basically becomes silent, but then you have the higher fan noise. So the convenience of putting it on low settings goes out the window. I tried to get a replacement unit but I was told I can return this unit wait for a refund and rebuy the item. I am not sure if I want to take a chance on this brand again. If it didnt make the noise It would have 5 stars, it did help with new dusty and musty and neighbors smoke scent. So for that I will miss the unit. I may buy 4 smaller units of another brand to replace this one.Update:I ended up buying a similar looking unit in another brand. It was a quarter of the price and just as effective. So Im happy to have found a solution. We have about 1400 sq feet, and this system does a good job. Great at odors. Seems to be good at getting rid of allergens as well, though our house is old and leaky and stuff still gets in. East to operate. Quiet most of the time but louder when cleaning very actively. Really like it so far. The unit came prepackaged with the filters inside the unit. Just remove the plastic on the filters, reinstall and turn on. Once the unit is on, it actually reads the quality of the air in the room. You can run this in auto or at whatever speed you feel comfortable in. The higher speed, the more noise the unit makes. Even in the higher speed, it was still pretty quiet. The air quality sensor is very sensitive, which makes me feel confident that it is doing its job. I purchased this one for the middle of our home. So satisfied with this, I purchased the smaller unit for my childrens rooms.

Screen protectors are so easy to apply with the little boarder to help align when installing I had never used a screen protector before, but with my new phone, both the clerk in the phone store and my daughtersuggested it would be a good idea. I didnt want a cheap peel off film so I went on Amazon and picked the Mkeke XR Screen protector. It comes with 3 in the package, alcohol wipes and a frame for installation. Installation was a breeze, and now I have a nice new sturdy plastic screen protector, and two as backup should this one get scratched. Very pleased with the product, the price was right too. Ive bought this brand for my other iPhones I have and they work great. The fitmentis perfect.I have no doubt that the fitment for the iPhone XR will be perfect. I will update if otherwise. It comes with 2 tempered glass screen protector and two cleaning kit to prep the area before applying the screen protector.I definitely recommend it if you want that original glass feeling as if you didnt have a screen protector on. And best of all its a bubble free design. I love these screen protectors! I have used these in the past on my other iPhones and they work great. Plus for the price you get three and each comes with their own pack of items to put it on. Its such an easy process to put this on because you get the edge cover to line it up perfectly. The sensitivity is just like it was on the phone! I will never buy an expensive ones from the phone store again! I highly recommend these they overall are awesome! Easy to apply and hold up great!! I will buy more when I need them but should be a long time since there are three! Comes with individual packets that have everything you need. Also comes with a jolder to click onto the front of your phone so you can easily put the screen on. Im a bit confused though because there is also some instructions on the inside saying there is a back part too but i dont see any materials for that This is the second time Ive bought these. They are easier to install than most screen protectors Ive tried. My daughter has an iPhone XR and we really worried about her breaking the screen when we got it. These seem to be doing the job. Two of our phones have these on the screens and they work well. The touch function works fine & they adhere well. Perfect screen protector. Looks amazing on the phone. I keep dropping my phone and this screen protector is shock proof. I would definitely recommend it. Fits my phone PERFECTLY! i can breath a sigh of relief knowing my screen is protected from scratches and breakage. It is always best to invest in the BEST QUALITY screen protector you can to avoid costly phone screen repair charges later! Thanks for a great product!

Save $10 on Fire TV Stick 4K with Alexa Voice Remote, streaming media player

I received the Fire TV Stick 4K on launch day. I own the previous model and this is a much better experience. First off the remote is a huge improvement. The power button on the remote can turn on my tv, my receiver, fire stick, and switch the inputs automatically so the fire stick is on screen and ready to go with just one click of the power button. Its really nice. This is how it should have been all along. It gets even better though… lets say my TV is already on, and my receiver is set to a different input such as my FIOS tv box? All you do is click the home button on the remote and the remote switches the receiver to the correct hdmi input on the receiver for the fire stick! One remote to rule them all, and yes it controls volume on the receiver too! This is excellent. Its highly configurable. The setup is quite nice. You can define which inputs get picked when hitting the power and home button. You can define which device the volume buttons control. Amazon has done a great job with the Fire Stick 4K.Its faster than previous fire sticks. No more menu lag. Things are smoother and faster overall. Ive used Roku, Chromecast Ultra and Fire Stick… I like them all for different reasons. I also dislike chromecast because 5.1 audio will not work on my receiver because chromecast refuses to support Dolby Digital or DTS 5.1. Fire stick has no problem handling DD5.1. This makes my plex and netflix experience much more enjoyable. The remote is better than not having a remote (chromecast). Rokus are very nice as well. All 3 of these options are great in their own way and frankly I had thought fire stick was the least desirable but recently Ive come to realize I prefer Fire stick so I pre-ordered the 4K fire stick and I could not be happier with it. Amazon needs to keep up the good work. The 4K stick is a solid product and an excellent upgrade from the previous model Let me tell you, I was super excited for the launch of the new FireTV Stick with its leading edge technology and processing power. Well, its got that but theres a couple bug, game breaking problems I have with this thing.1) The Amazon platform is basically retooled Android, which is a crap interface. Its cluttered, redundant, and Amazon being Amazon wants you to use all their services over everyone elses so not only does their menu get in the way but the top third of the home screen is promotions for whatever they want to push.2) Also because its Amazon they want you to use THEIR streaming services to rent movies so much so that there is no Vudu or Google Play app available to install. If Prime Video had a decent selection of rentals (it doesnt) or a halfway usable interface (it doesnt) I would have less of a problem.3) Our FireTV Stick has issues with flickering and sound dropout. Tech support immediately supplied a series of less than helpful troubleshooting tips. Did you try a different TV? Did you try a different HDMI port? Despite my Roku working just fine. I elected to return this since I was already fed up with the closed interface and terrible menus.Slightly less of an issue but still annoying is the inability to completely turn off HDR. Its either always on or adaptive meaning the content dictates HDR which is a problem especially with Netflix (which is calibrated too dark on some TVs)For now Im happier with my Roku Stick despite less robust HDR support.Edit: updated my review for the following:- Amazon reached out immediately after my review to get additional feedback and to offer more support. That actually means something these days. Ill continue to monitor for problems- I upgraded to a new TV and this makes the HDR issue better since it actually looks good on this TV. Problem still stands of not being able to disable HDR entirely if needed- The smart controls feature is nice. I can use Alexa to change TV inputs now.- Less flickering on new tv but still have sound dropoutsHowever my issue with not having a way to watch VUDU/UV movies is a huge issue. On top is that, MoviesAnywhere doesnt tell you which movies were transferred over in 4K. So while the titles may sync, in cases of certain films (eg Deadpool 2) you only get the HD version and not the UHD/HDR one you paid for. Until this is fixed Ill leave my review at 3 stars. Our main streaming service is DirecTV Now, and this stick doesnt run it right. The app seems to works and then just freezes. When I go to run a speed test, the connection is super low, and then ramps up over time back up to full speed. Its as though the app crashes the stick. Other things seem to work fine, but not the app we use the most. Will return and continue to use gen 2 and gen 3 devices. Too bad.UPDATE: So, I deleted DirecTV Now and did a fresh install. For the past three days, things actually worked well and considered revising my rating. Then I tried to watch a little Sunday football. CBS froze over and over again and caused the app to continually crash. Thought maybe it was the local CBS stream because other channels worked fine. Then I tried the Roku I have in my kids room, DirecTV Now worked fine. Figured Id give it another go for the second game, same result. Watched Rams/Seahawks in my kids room with no issue on the Roku device. Again, other apps seem to work fine (I think) on Fire, but this stick isnt right just yet. Id wait for problems to work itself out.
