Like one of the other reviewers, our ring pro doorbell worked well for 30 days and then kept disconnecting from the wi-fi. Following troubleshooting through the app, we performed a hard reboot which got the ring back up and running…temporarily. Every morning for a week, we did a hard reboot (not recommended by the way) and every night that thing disconnected from the wi-fi between 10 pm and midnight. So contacted Ring customer support. The first person we spoke with was not super helpful and I was convinced that he was just giving me a run around. But we called back and got someone different…way more helpful. Sent email pictures and instructions to help us locate the doorbell transformer. Ours was on the side of our electric panel and was a 16/15 V. Tech support person suggested upgrading to a 16/30 V. We did and so far so good. The Ring doorbell instantly fired itself back up after installation of the new transformer and has not disconnected from the wi-fi since. Heres the link to the transformer we got:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GND8RMQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Cliff notes*Its great assuming your doorbell transformer meets Rings voltage recommendations, your wifi signal strength is adequate, you properly configure motion detection settings/alerts and your internet connection speed is decent. Video quality is adequate but not great. Its good enough to see what is happening at your door.*We have a couple security cameras already but they are wired to an NVR recording box and the notifications are so slow or dont even send that I cant really rely on it for real-time notifications. For a while Ive resisted the notion of paying for surveillance when I can just get a cam with built in SD storage and a nice app like the Wyze cams (which I have inside and love) but having motion and video alerts and footage that cant be stolen or storage get corrupted and a well made phone app is worth $3 a month. I also like that if I decide to add more Ring cameras I can add as many as I want with the 10 dollar plan. Take notes here Nest.As for the doorbell itself, install was straight forward. I did have to upgrade my transformer for this. I installed the Endurance pro 24v unit. It was only a few bucks more than the 14v devices which apparently are the bare minimum Ring recommend. I figured that the extra voltage gives me some headroom to add a smart thermostat if I decide to do that in the future and after discovering how much of a pain it was to access my doorbell transformer in the attic, Im glad I only had to do this once. Make sure you locate yours before deciding on this model doorbell or the Ring 2 which would have been at least an hour or two shaved off the install time.Once I setup the motion detection zone, basically all false positive alerts are gone. I have the motion detection setting in the middle of the 5 settings. Lowering it doesnt detect the postman at the mailbox despite it being in the motion zone.Notification on my phone is instantaneous. I tested while walking up to the door and it had notified me and I had pulled up the app before I even got to the door both when connected to my home wifi and when on LTE. The remote chime installed without any issues as well.Speaking of home wifi, this seems to be a big sticking point for some owners. I used an android phone app to measure signal strength at my door and it was around -60db (the closer to 0, the stronger the signal). As a network engineer who has implemented numerous small business and commercial wifi installations, for reliable video streaming, I would say if your signal strength at the door is -65 or closer to zero, youre good. If its higher than -65 like -70 or -75~80, I would strongly recommend investing in upgrading your home wifi with a decent mesh setup like googles wifi, Orbi or EERO mesh. This will allow you to have a wifi access point closer to your door offering a much stronger signal for the doorbell to connect to. Wifi range extenders are hit or miss. Theyre less expensive than upgrading to a mesh setup but those have to piggyback off your existing wireless instead of just being a part of it and is generally more trouble than its worth for the average user to setup. The final piece of this working well is your internet speed both upload and download. If you are in a rural area with less than a 10 Mbps connection down and less than 2 Mbps upload, you will probably not have the best experience as this thing is both having to upload/stream video data to Rings servers and your phone is having to stream/download it from their servers. Rings video is not that high of bitrate (quality) but still needs to stream that data to their servers before you can even download/see it.If your ISP is metered, you need to be aware that the doorbell is constantly sending video footage. Mine has uploaded 600 megabytes of data in 4 days. At that rate, it will transfer about 4.5 gigs of data in a month. If your data is capped, be sure that you have the headroom to allow the doorbell to stream video footage. FYI it needs to stream this because if something is triggered, that portion of the stream is probably flagged as something you should see and it snips the motion detection part of the stream and sends it back to you. This is why you see your activity video and at first nothing happens and then you see whatever it is that triggered the motion alert. It was recording before it actually saw something move. The only real gripe I have is that sometimes when you open the app to view an event that just got recorded, the app will say that its processing and not available to play yet. Bought a refurbished Ring doorbell from Amazon. Installed and it worked on and off for a week. Then without warning it completely shut down. Called Ring Support and found out that the MAC address was not provisioned correctly, resulting in a non-functioning unit.Ring Support did immediately ship out a brand new unit (not refurbished) which is not working properly.5 stars to Amazon and Ring Support for fixing the issue, but the initial product gets 1 star. nothing on this thing worked as advertised. low voltage oh? replace transformer, disconnect rear door bell, buy interior chime bypass kit, buy replacement rechargable door bell chime. oh wifi weaj? buy wifi extender! it was never ending. calked tech support. dismal. first tech promised to get back to me after she requested i send her pictures. never heard back. found out from second tech that she did nothing with my issue! i also bought a first gen. battery powered one for back door… no problems with that one… hmmmm… Worked great for 30 days then will not stay connected to WiFi and customer was no help. Dont recommend product Ring apparently has two versions of the Ring Doorbell Pro. One which I received is the older model and is prone to burning out when connected to a low power doorbell transformer. I would say stay away from Ring doorbells if you do not have an upgraded transformer. They burn out in a few weeks and Ring will not ship you a new one, warranty doesnt cover that type of failure. Im going with the Nest Doorbell instead. I bought this simply be able to know whats happening around the kids…I went to the Doorbell Pro as I wanted it hardwired so I never had to deal with batteries. If you have an already wired doorbell, then be sure to buy the correct transformer to insure it gets proper voltage.I am going to buy one soon for my mom who lives alone, so I know intercede if someone tries to cold call her (which has happened) so that I can answer the door for her…indispensable piece of mind Overall good buy. Sometimes the video just takes to long to show up on my phone, even right near my router. In general this device has worked very well.

JETech Screen Protector for Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 7, 4.7-Inch, Tempered Glass Film, 2-Pack

Notes from the Community

Let me start by saying that I am EXTREMELY precise and picky when it comes to placing things like this- window films, phone protectors, anything that could be askew or have air bubbles. The product arrived with relatively clear instructions. I cleaned the phone screen and placed the protector on with the handy guides (small sticky handles that let you see what youre doing). I got it straight the first time, and with a simple tap watched that ever-so-satisfying clearness that indicates the screen is adhering to the glass phone screen. With almost no pushing it went all the way to the edges with not a single bubble or spec of dust. I am absolutely thrilled with this product! The fact that it came with TWO for such an affordable price makes me wish Amazon had a 6-star system. The package includes 2 screen protectors, each with their own set of the following:-Cloth for cleaning the screen-Blue dust film-2 guide stickers to place the protector on the phone screenI just received my package today, and Im glad I bought this product. I have an iPhone 7, and the protector fits perfectly on it. The instructions are clear, the screen protector itself is thick and not a flimsy piece of film, so Im confident it will protect my screen. (I will update my review in the event that I drop my phone and the protector doesnt keep my phones glass screen intact.) ALSO the protector doesnt show smudges from fingerprints (I was very pleased about this). You should be precise and careful when applying the protector to align it well. The protector doesnt cover the entire face of the phone, but it does cover the entire glass screen (which is what its essentially for). I agree with other reviewers who say that the protector is sized this way, so as to not interfere with any phone case you may have on it. I have a phone case, so Im glad the protector doesnt cover the entire face of the phone.Overall Im pleased with my purchase, and definitely recommend others to buy it. I would give 0 stars if I could. Its a 2 pack. I have put many of these on in the past and these are the worst by far. Had to use both and even the second one does not adhere to the edges and also bubbles that will not come out. If I wasnt so desperate to have protection on my phone, I would not have used the second one and sent them back. Just thought I would of had better luck from the second one! NOPE SAME RESULTS!! Stay away from these. Sometimes cheaper doesnt mean better. Jet tech is off my list of screen protectors. Spend an extra dollar or more and get a quality screen protector. Let me begin by saying that I take very good care of my iPhone and am extremely careful, but accidents do happen so I have used tempered glass screen protectors from different companies on my each of my phones for years. This is the first one that cracked the first time I dropped my phone. I continued using the cracked screen protector since it had only been a couple of weeks since I put it on. However, the cracks just kept spreading (without me dropping it!), so I was forced to replace it with the second screen protector that came in the pack. I dropped my phone a couple of months later and instantly the screen protector cracked. Over a few days, the cracks spread just from regular use and now I see that theres a crack UNDER the screen protector on my actual phone! There are so many tempered glass screen protectors out there…I do NOT recommend this one!The company stated that they guarantee their screen protector but refused to pay for my damaged iPhone…whats the point? The first time I bought this item, the screen protector lasted for about eight months. Then I put the second screen protector on my phone and it cracked overnight. I never dropped or threw my phone so not sure how that happened. I ordered another set this week put the first one on my phone and it cracked by the evening. I dont toss my purse around & my purse is padded so not sure why theyre cracking but I wish it lasted as long as it did the first time.UPDATEThe company actually contacted me after my review and apologized for the faulty screen that I received. They were so kind and generous on the phone they offered me a new set of tempered glass with this nifty placement tool for precise application. I am extremely impressed with the company striving for customer appreciation. I give this product a 5 Star revised review. The screens are great! Like I said, loved my first set so perhaps I just received a lemon on my second order. This screen protector is the easiest to install of any I have purchased for a fraction of the price. Despite what some reviewers have said, this is very thin glass - not plastic. It is tempered, so even when it cracks it can be removed in one piece. I would agree that the protector may not be the most durable, but I think this has more to do with the design of the iPhone 7 face (curved edges at the sides of the phone) than the screen protector. My protector cracked after I dropped my phone where it hit a concrete curb, so I considered it evidence that it did its job and took the fall for my actual screen. I use this protector with a Speck phone case and it fits perfectly.I had my original screen protector on for several months and just replaced it with the second in the package. I am reordering this product. I have the worst luck with screen protectors. Usually its because I get dust or small hairs on the sticky side while taking the backing off. This one was no exception and I saw 2 pieces of debris that I had to scrape off with my fingernail before sticking the screen protector to the phone.Surprisingly, it still stuck! I love the guide stickers, they really helped. However, there was a bubble that would not go away. So I carefully pulled back one of the corners to release the bubble and stuck everything back together and it looks great. That was a long story just to say that the installation process can handle a bit of human error while still achieving a smooth finish :).

UpdateGreat customer service from the company. Quick responses and they are willing to do whatever is necessary to fix production. Thats enough for me.Got this charger because it was sleek and looked cool. Unfortunately only one of the two charging ports working. Ive tried swapping the controllers around and swapped power cables, but still no luck. The lights both work, but the second charging port doesnt charge, and the light just stays green. Would still recommend this product. I assume not all of them are like this. My young kids jacked up the micro USB charging ports on the front of the controllers. This charging station was a life saver. The charging ports are much more durable, easier for them to seat to charge, and has the red/green indicator for charging. This was an excellent investment from keeping me having to go buy new PS4 controllers due to the micro USB ports breaking. I highly recommend this above using the standard charging ports. Not only does this dock work awesome, its looks pretty cool next to my PS4! It is very convenient and it is an accessory that I have been missing out on. I really love that it charges using the bottom headphone ext port, rather than struggling to use the micro USB port at the top. I highly recommend this dual charging dock for those looking for a sleek looking space saver! Got this as a present from my gf and let me just tell u she hit a nail on the head. Its sleek, looks very well made, the indicator is awesome, installing the controller to charge is easy and dont have to fight it like other chargers. also very compact, saves space on my small desk. very glad she got me this because i would of went with something more expensive, stupid me because this little guy handles its job extremely well. do recommend it So much better than a cable. And it looks cool. Apparently dimming the lights on your controller will make the battery last alot longer. But I dont have that problem Because Im to busy with life to play that long. Life aint about video games. Go out and do something I purchased this 4 months ago and it works great to charge my controllers. It charges from the front of the controller and doesnt use the micro USB on the back. The main problem I run into with these types of chargers is it tends to break the micro USB but because youre using the port on the front it works allot better-putting the controllers into the base station. Brilliant little gadget for a great price and does the job! Before my kids were hooking their remote control up to the actual PS4 which meant they were really close to the TV but now having this little gadget life is so much easier. It didnt come with the actual plug but it did come with the cable so I used a plug I already had and have it plugged into the wall so the remotes can charge 24/7. I would highly recommend this as its small and takes up no space. I bought this for my DualShock 4 controllers that are connected via Bluetooth to my Steam PC rig. For some reason, I have inconsistent results when attempting to charge them via microUSB cable, so I found I was having to keep them connected to a cable in order to use them. That is, until I found this handy charging station! Controllers can now charge in a reasonable amount of time (Im usually never in a hurry and tend to rotate controllers). No more empty batteries!

This stainless steel scale works really well for us. For the price you cant beat it.If you cook and bake a lot like we do, the scale helps achieve an accurate measurement. Its super convenient when a recipe calls for an ingredient in grams and you dont have the tools to measure, this scale is simple to use and accurate. In our video you can see it turns on quickly. You can change the unit while the item is on the scale. And it turns off within seconds.Weve used this scale many times over the last few years and we are still using the same AAA batteries it came with. The small grips on the bottom of the scale are nice to have.Overall its a great scale and even better price! Bought this scale to weigh my litter of puppies. Its fantastic so far. I just put a plate on it, tare the plate, and then set a puppy on it. Works like a charm. Would definitely recommend it. Plus its very nice looking. Great for the kitchen if thats what youre buying it for. This scale is terrible. It is true, you get what you pay for and I only paid $8. The weight reading continues to move up and down. I used a calibrated scale side by side and weighed 4 grams. This scale went back and forth from 3-5 while the other one gave exactly 4. Honestly wish I had spent a little extra money on a better scale. I work in law enforcement and need more precise weights than +/- 1. Edit 5/9/19 - So the seller asked if I would receive a new unit at this point to see if they could take care of the original issues I had with the first product. This unit seems to have fixed all of my original issues with the product over the past 2 weeks. They went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I would recommend.Original review - I meal prep and I bought this to weigh out all my food for the entire week and then cook. The one day I cook a week I use this scale for maybe a half-hour in total on time. I turn it off and then the next week I go to turn it on the batteries are dead. Ive changed the batteries everytime I use it essentially. This thing drains the battery even when not in use. Easy to use, pretty accurate scale, love the way it looks (very sleek and easy to clean since its a stainless steel top)The only issue i had is looking at the actual read out… Since the entire thing is pretty flat on the top, if you place any sort of decent sized bowl or plate, it completely obstructs the digital screen. You end up having to see if you can push back the bowl and get a look at while bending over to look under the curve of the bowl or placing a thinner box and the plate or bowl on top of the box.Honestly the scale would have been 5 stars but the fact you cant see the display without going through a mission is pretty annoying.EDIT: After giving it 3 stars Etekcity contacted me to let me know that they had a larger version and sent it free of charge, it was the Etekcity Digital Kitchen Scale Multifunction Food Scale with 30% Wider Platform 11lb 5kg, 3 GP Batteries Included (Stainless Steel), which pretty much negates the issue I mentioned above. And after I looked it up they have a newer version of the one I was sent that has the read out to the side which seems even more practical. For customer service alone, I had to raise my initial 3 stars to four! I just recently received this beautiful and most of all easy to use kitchen scale by Etekcity! This scale was extremely accurate and precise. When measuring cooking ingredients, I was relieved to know that the digital scale did not become imprecise, meaning bouncing back and forth between decimal points despite the unit changes when shifting to and from grams, ounces, and milliliters. Overall, the scale could also virtually fit anywhere in a kitchen (I.e., kitchen drawer, cabinet, on the counter etc.) In addition, the scale is quite nicely made and I suspect that it will be very durable and last me a long time! I considered long and hard about how to rate this product. It is designed to do one thing, weigh small amounts of food. It is aesthetically designed well. And that is as far as it goes in delivering on its intended function. The tare or zero function is coupled to the measuring function. Meaning, when you put a dish on the scale then zero the display, the resulting value will include the weight of your finger pushing the button. The product fails to do what it is advertised to do; accurately measure the weight of food. The designer must not be an engineer. I would recommend another product to weigh food. I will be returning this and finding a better product. When I do I will update this review with my findings. (I gave it two stars because. It looks nice) Not sensitive to low weights. The scale is almost useless for measuring out spices and yeast and other items which are in the low single digits of grams. You can only work around it by putting something heavy on the scale (like a plate), then putting the measuring paper on top of that and then pouring on the ingredient. The last scale I bought from Amazon did not have this problem. The scale is also grossly imprecise, on the order of 10-20%. This can be tested easily - put a cup on the scale and measure a significant amount of ingredients, say 14 grams of salt and 6 grams of sugar. Remove the cup and put a different cup on the scale, tare the weight, then pour in what should be 20 grams from the first cup. It will come out WAY different. This scale is basically trash. The last scale I bought from amazon was routinely accurate to within 1%.
